This proposal is for an Airspace Trial, for which a scaled airspace change process applies and a change level is not applicable.

Bristow Group deliver UK SAR helicopter services nationwide on behalf of the MCA and HM

Coastguard. Bristow and the UK Government has committed to embrace UAS technology within future SAR provision. To meet this national intent, Bristow have committed to trial and evaluate UAS as a potential complement to current and future UK SAR services .

Current regulations mandate UAS operated Beyond Visual Line of Sight of the operator (BVLOS) must do s o within ‘Segregated Airspace’. This proposal documents Bristow’s intention to create a bespoke operating area to facilitate the development of UAS, airspace and communications concepts of operation.

This is the area which may be affected by this airspace change depending on its development. This area may change as the proposal is developed.
