Purpose of this change

This proposal is for a Permanent change to the notified airspace design, and the change level is TBC.

As part of the Airspace Modernisation Strategy for the south of England, Bournemouth Airport believe it is necessary to look to redesign the Airspace, to facilitate revised departure and arrival routes, in association with the FASI-South Programme; linking with other key airports identified in the Programme, to modernise the overall airspace structure and route network.

At the Develop and Assess Gateway, the CAA completes a regulatory assessment of the change sponsor's outputs and relevant supporting evidence to determine whether the airspace change process requirements of Stage 2 have been followed.

CAA response to Develop and Assess Gateway

06/12/2024: The CAA has completed the Develop and Assess Gateway Assessment and is not satisfied that the change sponsor has met the requirements of the Process up to this point. The CAA does not approve progress to the next Step. Further explanation for this decision is contained in the published document 'Develop & Assess Gateway Outcome - December 2024'.

In accordance with direction 5(1) of the Civil Aviation Authority (Air Navigation) Directions 2023, the CAA is not satisfied this airspace change proposal up to this stage has demonstrated that it is in accordance with the CAA’s Airspace Modernisation Strategy (CAP 1711), including Iteration 2 of the UK Masterplan that has been accepted into it.
