Stage 3 : Consultation/Engagement Preparation

At the beginning of Stage 3 the change sponsor prepares a strategy and draft materials and submits them to the CAA, along with the full options appraisal.

CAA response to Stage 3

12/12/2023: The revised airspace change process (CAP 1616, Version 5) will be implemented on 02 January 2024. This ACP will remain a Level 1 and will need to follow the process requirements as set out in CAP 1616 Version 5.

18/03/2024: Until iteration three of the airspace change masterplan, including the updated programme plan has been assessed and accepted by the CAA and Department for Transport as co sponsors of airspace modernisation, the full indicative timeline for this ACP cannot be confirmed. The Gateways within the published document 'Indicative Timeline - March 2024' are subject to change.
