Stage 3 : Consultation/Engagement Preparation

This step has been started

At the beginning of Stage 3 the change sponsor prepares a strategy and draft materials and submits them to the CAA, along with the full options appraisal.

CAA response to Stage 3

6/10/23 - The CAA has completed the Develop and Assess Gateway and is satisfied that the change sponsor has met the requirements of the process up to this point. The CAA has determined that the confirmed level will be Level 1. The CAA approves progress to the next step.

12 Dec 23 - The revised airspace change process (CAP 1616, Version 5) will be implemented on 2 January 2024. This ACP will remain a Level 1 and will need to follow the process requirements as set out in CAP 161 Version 5.

18/03/2024: Until iteration three of the airspace change masterplan, including the updated programme plan has been assessed and accepted by the CAA and Department for Transport as co sponsors of airspace modernisation, the full indicative timeline for this ACP cannot be confirmed. The Gateways within the published document 'Indicative Timeline - March 2024' are subject to change.
